Palisades Park is the major park on the mountain tops above the Golden State Freeway which functions as a major portal to the City of Los Angeles from the north side of the city. Because of the manner in which the park is shaped, the park separates the new town of Las Lomas from the noise and dust of the freeway below. The park is designed using the New Beaux Arts principles.
